A trick we use at home is to use an empty Premier Margarita Mix bottle that is marked so we can mix up a whole bottle of pre-mixed margaritas.
For your convenience, we measured the markings so you don’t have to go through the measuring. Take an empty Premier Margarita Mix bottle and set it on a flat surface. Use a ruler and make three marks on the bottle with an indelible ink marker. Be precise.
- First mark 2-5/16 inches up off the surface the bottle is sitting on. Label this part of the bottle for Juarez® Triple Sec
- Second mark 4-7/16 inches up off the surface the bottle is sitting on. Label this part of the bottle for Cuervo® Gold Tequila
- Third mark 2-9/16 inches down from the bottom edge of the screwed on cap. Label this part of the bottle for Premier Margarita Mix
- You can also add 4 or 5 fl oz of water if you want to reduce the alcohol content slightly. See our discussion on alcohol content. A Premier Margarita is strong. Always drink responsibly.
Use an ice shaker to chill the margarita. Start with a room temperature margarita and shake it over ice or you can pour it over ice and stir well. The ice melt is part of the recipe.
Add a bit of salt and lime to the rim of your glass as your taste dictates. Strain the margarita into the glass and top it off with a bit of ice. Serve with a straw so you can drink it without the crushed ice getting in the way.
